Picturesque Love

Picturesque Love

A Poem by Ryan Luse

                                     Picturesque Love

a ryan luse jam

When I fell for her, I gathered all the colors her heart possessed
I mixed them on a sun kissed canvass of colors that she had blessed
I painted with my fingers, but it was her that gave it depth and form
She gave it a name, I gave it a voice as the sky began to transform

And it rained, Oh God it rained so damn hard
We held on to that picture like a royal guards
The colors would fade, but not the light in our eyes
Because maybe tomorrow we'll give our picturesque love another try

When I married her, I took all the elements that her soul required
I mixed them on a moonlit canvas of thought that transpired
I formed it with my eyes, but it was her that made it a masterpiece
She gave it a name, I gave it a voice as the ground began to cease

And it was cold, Oh God it was so damn cold
We held on to that picture like thieves with gold
The colors would fade, but not the light in our eyes
Because maybe tomorrow we'll give our picturesque love another try….
