Interview

What’s the hardest part of your job?

pencil

Speak up will ya?

If I had a dime for evr’y time

someone screamed so softly

- well nevermind.

repeat

whisper

Who wore what where?

repeat

Augh.

Doll, that whisper held a whole notta secret and a whole lotta spit.

Can’t cough- coughin’ can’t

come cause

I ain’t got a throat do I?

Sorry

repeat

pencil

Right.

Boomin’ and cryin’

Can’t stand those shrilly ones

that sting (whining)

those rough and gruff ones

that scratch (burly man)

those crackin’- ridin’ on pride ones

that crinkle and wrinkle

their way through (puberty).

pencil

scratch

But it’s all I got.

How do you like your job?

loud

I like it as much as the next guy.

The next guy.

Never met him.

I’m sure he’s a nice fella.

pencil

Maybe he’s a she fella.

I never thought of that.

Cause thinkin’s not my job right.

Right.

What’s the worse sound you’ve heard?

So last week I see my doctor,

I tell him “Doc, somethin’ ain’t right.

I can’t sleep at night.

Mounds and mounds of sounds poundin’

‘round and ‘round and ‘round-”

He won’t ever prescribe me, see

says that’s my job-

Was he wrong?

pencil

sneeze- excuse me

Tastin’ ain’t my job

but when that sweet string of savory

notes sweep and sway,

seducing and reducing me to

serendipity,

it’s not a job to feel.

pencil

I ain’t a heart.

But I know when she sings,

I ring- ring ring-

I know what it means!

Hm

pencil

Speak-

think-

taste-

feel-

what am I talkin’ your ear off fo-
