Somedays

Somedays

A Poem by e.renoldi

Somedays I remember everything about you.

Somedays I can only see your eyes.

Somedays there is you and me.

Somedays there is us and we.

Somedays I remember what you said.

Somedays I remember in excruciating detail what you did.

Somedays all you are is a picture on my phone.

Somedays all you say is, “Wow, we’ve known each other for like 10 years.”

Somedays your face makes me ponder the border of my mind.

Somedays I wonder if because you are not here, were you ever there?

Somedays our minds spill into our eyes.

Somedays I hate you.

Somedays you are a ghost and I’m not sure what that makes you.

Somedays I can’t touch you, but that doesn’t make you real.

Somedays you just follow me around like I invited you.

Somedays I invite you.

Somedays I remember that I know nothing about you.

Somedays I am a nine-year-old.

Somedays I can’t talk to you.

Somedays I want to.

Somedays you’re more real than others.

Somedays I make you love me.

Somedays I realize it’s all in my mind.
