Face
A Poem by
jacob erin-cilberto
Face
soaked with bloated
raindrops
that fell from my sky's
eye and
became paralyzed on a
cheek
of bony impertinence
that won't allow the
waterfall to reach
its conclusion.

A clear observation of interrupted sadness. The sky of sadness had to stop, and the face had to be a stoic one enduring immeasurable pain.
it made me swallow hard..

i love the simplicity of the title....
sometimes it's a blessing when the grieving process is interrupted; other times, it's the worst thing not to be able to process the grief so we can move on.
great piece!

Even when the tears fall, they do not fall.
Makes me think of an old man with sunken eyes, tears fall but pool in the sockets.

handcuffs, those emotions that won't allow the water to fall, to pool , to evaporate or to flow to much bigger bodies of emotion.

sometimes a sudden rudeness can interrupt the sadness, impeding it's natural end...well-sad, my friend
