floods and foreclosures

floods and foreclosures

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

floods and foreclosures

philosophical clouds

rain demented dreams

lightning strikes in thought patterns

erratic storms of semantics

uninsured, cryptic lodgings

damaged retina of the mind

the thunderous roar of his voice

just a slight sound of

hushed rain pitter-pattering

a roof of denial

he is distance, and i am here

waiting out the deluge of grief

wishing i could fall from the clouds

over his head,

and tap on his window

like a stray raindrop.

High-level acid-trip eloquence; a modern Shakespeare post tab.
Dizzying, meaningful and impressive!

thank you for your kind review,

i see this as a loose companion piece to the "detours" piece....

emotional storms can bring either clarity or destruction in their aftermath. i think it depends on our initial preparation....

i love your use of language and word choice here.

Talk about a real beauty in semantics!

"Tap on his window like a stray raindrop".......what a great line!

Al

when philosophy clouds over ... where is the direction ... when leaders abuse diction ... who can swim the tide .. i would like to tap his window with a boulder of consternation ;}

I am sure they would block my calls..
Through three readings my mind ended on window... such is the strength of your vision.

I treasure those willing to stand before and guide others to find the best within.
Inclement weather hasn't been this good since Lena Horne. Wonderful use of the language, tightly drawn and inventive metahphor, wonderfully visual--it's the erin-cliberto trifecta.

This is amazing. Your word choice is incomparable, yet doesn't overshadow the themes and meaning. Great.

Brilliantly turning skies drift through your thoughts, these magic metaphors of storms and souls. There is such a mystery that unfolds in the lines, a movement and sound that stir the mind and emotions.

What a way to illustrate turbulent emotions. Reminded me of the five stages of grief.
