sale's slip

sale's slip

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

sale's slip

i was in this quaint little shop of love

looking for a heart to purchase,

at a sensible emotional price,

but wasn't willing to expend the feelings

at such high risk,

so i left before sunrise,

and headed to Wal-Mart

for my next low budget affair.

We are often advised to take calculated risks in business but this piece makes me realize that the same principle may likewise be applied in terms of investing in a relationship. There are those who wants to risk it all then end up at nothing. So maybe, there are times that we need to play safe...

Sometimes, we're looking for Ms. Right. Sometimes, we settle for Ms. She'll Do. At some point, as you so wryly note, risk gets a wee bit too taxing on any number of levels.

Love the way your mind works Jacob. You have such a distinctive and unique approach to writing. I was just in Sainsbury's the other day, which is a slightly more upmarket version of walmart, but was only window shopping really. The ladies looked lovely but way out of my price range. Maybe I should stick to poundland :)

You're welcome Jacob.
I can't help but think of a different version of little shop of horrors, and than walmarts version of love... Out of the frying pan and into the fire !!! Personally I like looking in all the wrong places.

Big smile with this one.

We all consider off - the - rack from time to time but would prefer to be seen with the exclusive purchase in public (Metaphorically speaking of course) haha.
