soft step

soft step

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

soft step

tip-toe into love
keep your balance
a ballerina's pose,
pirouette slowly, very slowly

if the dance director smiles
you will fall into your partner
on the final turn
and fuse as one

from the improvisation
your hearts.devise.

The dance takes all you have and you and your partner give to it and in doing so you discover more and the dance of living begins.

I'd share a piece like this with your lady- when it's time. Not the gushing one... lol
I like this one a lot.

much more romantic and soft -- almost seems a little hopeful, this dance.

lovely jacob! i see her softly turning ...with an eye for "God is love" ... we are directed sweetly to fall .. really like this one a lot ..very romantic! peaceful even ... its refreshing to read as the jagged edges of love are the more motivating for artists eh!? :)

And every dance is just a tiny bit different! Wonderful metaphor and flowing lines in this one, Jacob. You are in first place with this poem...and it is well-deserved! Lydi**

I felt the slow and fluid motions of love moving gracefully to its hopefully happy culmination. As much depends on providence as on our compitability in this fateful dance. A poem so appreciated.

It's been a while (years) since I've been to a ballet and it's too bad because the grace of excellent dancers is such a beautiful thing to behold. Dance director was such a brilliant choice of wording. I don't see it as a literal director as much as I see it as fate/destiny or simply love. If love smiles, if it is meant to be, the two will fall together in the final turn. This crazy, improvised thing called life has a funny way of making us dancers collide. Your pen surely danced in this one, Jacob. Thanks for sharing this!

A tender warning, almost...the fragility of love visceral and palpable :)

So you here capture a great picture of ballet in words keeping things clear, simple & vividly reading around. Seemed, two lovers dancing over the night & "neighbourhood" (dream catcher) watching them dramatially with an eye of love... & awaiting when she bows down to feet & he stands up to capture her like a bird, smothering. Very nice imagery.
