the Confidence GameA Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
a
certain sunlit morning behind foreign shades of
shame peeking eyes blink new
confidence
apologies bring surface
glare to the pane a heartless recluse finds company
in shielding surrogate
emotions with others, who refuse to walk under
halcyon skies
pretending clouds, even when none are in
sight.
