Farm Hands

 

 

aardvarks eat ants

you eat little hearts

 

and your decaying soul

burns with desire

 

the workers carry your conscience

takes a lot of them

 

but you don't remember the innocents

you stepped on

 

you just move on

a sharp beak

molesting the blameless 

 

buried under the crevasses

of your perverted ,

straight-jacket tongue----

I think the opening lines are original and have impact in the setting of the scene. 'you eat hearts' says so much about the person you refer to. The decaying soul also provides insight into the perception of this heartless person. This theme continues in your very precise metaphors and it works for me. If it makes me think and wonder at the use of words and phrases, it works for me Jacob.
