A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

slick semantics

language of enormous error

the forgetful prodigy

age deteriorates

determination is backtracking

a lovely rhetoric

beautiful imagery in microphone logic

the applause as if a standing ovation for Shakespeare

the hall explodes

someone lit a fuse

i was burned by my own soliloquy

she was determined

not to be my Juliet...

and i felt the dagger she used on herself

thrust

deep into my heart.

Juliet is not sticking to the script. I felt the sharps here too, not meant for you, but you got them anyway. Rejection sucks and you are on fire with your pen.

Any rejection has consequences and the capacity to break hearts. Another gem of a write.

All the world is a stage and we mere actors as we say our lines only to be rejected and Juliet killed him rather than herself. Another allegory in this amazing saga Jacob.
