Sol Mates

Sol Mates

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Sol Mates

a cloud suspended

a rain drop with the ability

to eavesdrop

on my thoughts

watered down remembrance

of our days

so many years ago

when Moody Blue skies

were in our eyes

and we danced to the song

of a blind moon

that could care less about what it

couldn't see

we were spellbound

by the shadows in each other's hearts

thinking our love

had the power to sun away

the darkness.

a wonderful mix of moods.. and romance and the weather.. I live on the west coast less the half a mile from the beach.. and this resonates.. both for the weather and the romance.. unpredictable.. romantic and moody.. thank you Jacob.. yours is the first I read today and it is a good mood setter for the day.. clear and cold.. so far.. but warming is promised.. as soon as the sun sheds some love..

Ahhhh . . . the Moody Blues . . . what great music they made!!!!! This is a song of a great romantic nature!!! Yet, the reality is love dosen't always win in the end.

no, but often good while it lasts...
thanks, T.

There is a need for love... and when it rains...
the sound of water is a blue moody song...
when Moonbeams linger on dreams of
lips being kissed and softly played on a
keyboard of stars tickling our fancy. truly, Pat

thank you for your beautifully poetic reply, Pat,

"A marvelous night for a moon dance" … with a "long cool woman in a black dress" … and how the memories of spellbinding love are watered down with too many days between then and now.

A good write, j.

Excellent word play on soul/sol . . . love how "rainy" symbolizes loss of youth . . . love reference to Moody Blues . . . last but definitely not least, it's so true how we felt invincible against anything cloudy or rainy that might dare to come! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

i relate to this remembering back to some of my heart lost to romance "going steadies"
I kind of think most young lovers lose their hearts a time or two

yes, at least a time or two or three or four...
thank you, Dave,

and perhaps for a brief moment in time your feelings for each other did "sun away the darkness".... somehow Jacob the Moody Blues did capture what our youthful hearts were feeling... my first wife and I had collected their first 7 albums... for me it was a magical time, but when we split, I didn't take a single one with me.. each song was too much a memory... its been only in the last 10 or so years that I began listening to them again... the Moody Blues, one of the reasons why the music produced in the mid 60's and into the late 70s have never really been topped...

anyway, this poem sang to me Jacob and I thank you for this... you truly have a poet's heart...

thank you for your kind and understanding review, Curt,

Nights in white satin. How can anyone forget the.Moody Blues and you are taking a trip down memory lane here, I do believe. Back to the sixties, to your soul mate, when the sun shone brightly and passionately before any cloud burst set in. When you thought that love conquered all. When optimism climbed and peaked mountain tops :) Those were the days. Love this little poem. Great work J.
