It's Inevitable

It's Inevitable

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

It's Inevitable

my feelings for you have been impeached

the vote denied me closure

for my heart,

just a politically correct infusion

of confusion

aware of the process

my eyes stare deeply at the witnesses

brought forth

to prove i should be ousted from your office

love is simply a majority

of recall,

the past cannot save me now

i shall resign immediately

so that we both may avoid

the pain of opening wounds

i have signed the goodbye letter

and now will go out into the rain

and baptize my new beginning....

thank you, Manya,

And with baited breath, we await her spin doctored response, blaming everyone but herself and miraculously appearing in a cabinet position. That will be her downfall Jacob, having us all shouting FAKE NEWS at her. We walk into the distance as the credits roll. Thumb out and sad music playing, a la Bruce Banner. 😀

Wow, how i wish this would happen...lol. You mix current events and love like a word class pastry chef. And the fact that this hits so close to the bone makes it even more fulfilling.

if compassion rules, perhaps...thank you, Michael.

Love this impeaching play on words to depict love that has diminished and is no longer there. But to want wash it away to find anew, that spark that is hopefully the one everlasting.

thank you for your kind and insightful words, BlackRose...

Ha! Please forgive, J. For a few seconds, I thought I was reading a poem-letter from Monica Lewinsky to Bill Clinton. Bad humor on my part at this late hour. ;)

Seems the ending here was inevitable, just subject to who’d resign first. Seems the system is rigged against the good guys.

Ahhh . . . your imaginative ponderings pique my unfathomable fantasy that a man might actually do the right thing & impeach himself . . . sorry . . . the word "impeach" has only one overwhelming feeling these days. Hard to equate it to the push-and-pull of love *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

As long as it’s a good downpour you don’t need reminders. Nice writing J.
