my feelings for you have been impeached

the vote denied me closure

for my heart,

just a politically correct infusion

of confusion

aware of the process

my eyes stare deeply at the witnesses

brought forth 

to prove i should be ousted from your office

 

love is simply a majority

of recall,

the past cannot save me now

 

i shall resign immediately

so that we both may avoid

the pain of opening wounds

 

i have signed the goodbye letter

and now will go out into the rain

 

and baptize my new beginning....

Love the metaphor here. There comes a time in relationships when it is blatantly obvious that no amount of work is going to improve the situation. What to do? Take stock and bow out with some dignity before it turns into an almighty battlefield. Wise move I say. Well conveyed Jacob.
