Straw Womb

Straw Womb

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Straw Womb

splintered impression,

wooden affectation

cold verbiage included

warm kisses

knee buckling touch

lips inflamed

wings cut

rhetoric blunder

infection under the skin

you are

both sides of a frivolous

fermentation

something is growing

an us?

or just split fingered decision

grounded in haste

as our hearts struggle

for birth.

a schism of frivolous fermentation, it feels like Siamese twins getting ready for the operation. separation, the loss of some kind of something, great poem, j.

thank you for your words...and i like that about the Siamese Twins...yes.

I was drawn to the word fermentation. A chemical reaction. Sounds like some excitement here in the form of a new romance. Something is growing, in that soft straw womb. Something out of nothing. It all sounds rather positive Jacob.

This reads like the beginnings of new love and the nest without they knowing is in the making.

It seems a rescue from a birth is the solution.

Split fingered decision grounded in haste... yet I sense a something growing, something positive and of passion, reading your words here.

gorgeous writing. i'm envious. "straw womb" as a social construct is brilliant. something is growing. yes! i can learn from you! this rocks because every word is intentional. amazing.

Ahhh! The passion, the pulse, the impulse that fades. I liked the "splintered impression." I could easily envision the bed made in the straw. Very nice.

As usual for you, this is first, a profoundly written poem with powerful imagery.
