inhabitants of free will

inhabitants of free will

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

inhabitants of free will

secret ghosts

appear to adorn

the walls

gravity vapors

communicating in undulating cloud

goodbye a word they never learned to accept

so the room is filled with uninvited guests

but at least they can't take anything with them

when they leave

and the hors d'oeuvres

are merely secrets

of which we all partake

so nothing lost there

except a few cryptic

sips of conscience.

I have a few ghost hanging around Jacob.
"and the hors d'oeuvres
are merely secrets
of which we all partake"
I did like the above lines. A handful said in these words. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

You are welcome Jacob.
I always wonder what the dearly departed are up to, privacy is an illusion if this is the case and if the wind is blowing just right I may change my mind and not of my own free will. Wonderful Jacob!

Lost souls who refuse to believe they have passed come to the party but they do not bear watching as they can't help themselves to the silverware.
Nothing to fed upon but the old secrets they carried with them rehashed & spread through the crowd ... but they give nothing away ... we've heard the rumours ... we listen politely with just a hint of conscience to say we shouldn't.

Good one j.
