sewn into infamy

sewn into infamy

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

sewn into infamy

the fabric of life

torn and frayed

the covers thrown aside

it's all about sides

and pillow talk

deep into the night

our plight

at the mercy of the quilters

of the constitution

who seem to have lost touch

with

the fabric of life.

Maybe because of our recent elections, this poem had a political slant for me. Politicians need to ensure they are not out of touch with the electorate. This happened over here and the electorate certainly gave one party a good hiding. One they will remember for a long time. They have been left to contemplate on what went wrong. Politicians need to listen and understand their constituents. They are there to serve their constituency. It doesn't go down well when your member of Parliament has their own agenda and ignores the people paying their wages.

Wow. Kudos on this.

I like how open ended this is. From politics to social media. From our oblivious minds.our eyes closed or glued onto nothing.

Well put! Kudos.

Yes J, not only are pollies not in tune just filling their own pockets but society, relationships, courting have all lost its fabric replaced by modern technology which is fine if you are a robot.

Jacob - I can read so much into what you say. I taught American History for many years. A good part of it was on the Constitution. Seeing what's happening now I shudder to think what our "Founding Fathers" must think about the way it is being abused today.

Perhaps - I'm wrong. Take care - Dave

You seem to me to have a heart rending grasp of life. Your words seem to finger the soul. I think this is a brilliant poem. I am really touched by it. Thank you Jacob.
