too much blue

too much blue

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

too much blue

cloudburst

eyes in mercurial mist

a prodigal sun's

return

a tear's dilemma

the ducts in redress...

Upstate New York's Winter sun gets pretty prodical.
Figure my neighbors and I will be blue for, at least, three more months.
This will give us more than enough time to get our ducts in a row.
Synchronize, as it were.
Thoroughly enjoyed the read!

Dear Jacob...as a mere novice at writing poetry I can see how deep I will have to dig to reach the words I need to express. You seem to touch the kernel with the minimum of words and gain the maximum depth. The prodigal sun’s return... how clever is that!

thank you for your kind review, Marie-Louise,

This took me to a documentary called 'Blue" which Upset me so much I had to cut it of and another called 'Revolution,' both addressing 'Blue' but the blue of the oceans and the genocide taking place there, with the very possible dire consequences

dear Jacob... many songs have been written about blue...
and yet only a few have surpassed the great beyond
where blue bells ring and angels sing, Glory to God
where Earth abides. truly a spacious sky where we live and die.

“A tear’s dilemma”... shine clear blue or express what’s inside and risky the salty redness? Seems the mind’s blue can turn us red outside.

yes, it does seem that way...thank you, R.E.

This is beautiful it can be interpreted a few ways which is what I love about your poems you have the art of not explaining the whole gist of it leaves one in beautiful mysterious clouds of uncertainty
This one takes me to the day of Jesus returning through the clouds to get us
But I can also interpret it other ways too early here it’s just early coffee time

i like both of those interpretations...i thank you for your insightful words, Julie,

My thoughts here are of the season and reflections on the past. I liked prodigal sun, it made me think about parents separated from their boy. I found these words moving. I felt tears coming here where there may not have been tears before. Christmas is a time when we miss our loved ones most.

Not cried outside for an age. But this is what I feel inside. Brilliant.

It feels a bit disappointing when I want to cry but the tears let me down. Somewhere, the blues have faded and the ache isn't so strong any more. Healing can be dull.

you can only cry so long as does a broken heart weep. all things heal eventually.
