Have never wrestled with "writer's block."
Since I do not believe in Muses, they can't let me down. And, quite obviously, I write
mostly fiddle-faddle.
Hell, I rarely suffer for my "art"; I invite my few readers to do that.
Impactful piece, Jacob.
"he knows the words are there
he just can't bring them up"
Bukowski was a drunk. I thought vomit. That's what came into my mind.
Other writers may not have the drink as an excuse for lack of words. Not sure about this one Jacob, but I think it's to do with the lack of muse.

I know you said LIKE Bukowski, but although your description of him, in my humble opinion is spot on, I can only assume this is about another writer you know Jacob, because the description is just so nothing like you. Well, apart from the poetic coasters, I'm sure you'd have at least one of those.
It also describes the lack of muse blues so eloquently, so perhaps a self analysis we can all understand at some time in our writing. If I wrote like this about not being able to write, I'd probably turn pro 😀
