a kingdom's anniversary

a kingdom's anniversary

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a kingdom's anniversary

years of sovereignty

no crowns,

just two conjoined

the counting stopped

postmortem

but numbers tally in memory

the subject, love

kneeling before each other

with graying bones

I'll drink to that! in fact many people do drink to that! this is sad and not sad at the same time to love that strongly is wonderful until the one you love is gone brother Jacob than its just memories that hold you

if only our human traits based on kindness and love for each other presided over our less favourable traits, cruelty, greed and selfishness.

how interesting ... can't say i grasp the whole intent but the Kingdom as protaganist ..so many have died and the counting is now in memory .. history .. Egypt .. Roman ... Celts .. as your poem inspires me noodle ... come to thing of it .. always there were two .. King and Queen .. and subjects .. also dead and gone .. love kneeling before each other hmmmmmmmmmm i am not sure where this one goes jacob .. but it sure stimulated me nog ...the story is probably simply two in love ... shared lives in partnership ..in death together now .. as my fore bearers are ... beautiful sentiments .. stripped to the bone .. no flowers, crowns nor valentines ..just the loving :)

:) .......................
Love should be two people hand in hand forever joined and together against all and sundry. That's the romantic in me speaking, I've just dredged up from the ocean floor.

what else did you find on that ocean floor, Chris?
I have to wonder, you know.

And that's the great thing about love, no crowns, just conjoined and kneeling before each other.
