A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Worn out Cover

we lie upon

a soft bed of lies

our love inferred we idealize

each other when the pillow talk

is fresh

but as time parries on

it imparts us to realize

our blanketed threads

no longer mesh.

From you Jacob a rare rhyming piece, filled with those standard regrets of love that has slipped from the grasp leaving behind the empty betrayal and loneliness that hangs around the neck like a noose.

Beyond clever & oh-so-truthful! The last 2 lines are off-the-charts witty! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Lifting the thinning veil that so barely covers the truth.
I can so easy relate to this process of "stop fooling yourself".
