graduating to nothingA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertograduating to nothing and New York and really in Chicago the lake wind is Beelzebub dressed in a white capped gown our country is freezing even in hot Florida where the covid flies in the face of vulture skies they wait, for the short breaths the terrified screams of family the insolent back turning of the Eagle can you see him wings dyed a colorless hue his span incredulous shadows make the days colder we are all frozen to our belief that people matter, and he can hardly fly anymore he is laughing so hard. erin-cilberto 9/27/2020
