ooochy oooch Jacob...a broken family is a broken society... this facture is long time in coming...and will take a long time to correct. The most important thing you can do as a citizen and a member of society is to take care of the seeds you plant! Great thought provoking write as always!

Always a pleasure to read you Jacob get my marbles movin'...:)
"punctured passion
the flat tire of immense pressure
that says 'psssssssssssssssssssst'"- one of my favorite stanzas. I enjoy the meatiness of this piece, and I can certainly relate.
Thought I best read Betty's piece first Jacob, to see the bigger picture and even if I hadn't, would have thought it a duet.
Some evolutionary steps do seem to take longer than others to make way for something that can be of more use to the species to evolve into the path we should be walking by now, of love being love and each generation learning from the last, but also teaching them more tolerance for others, no matter what they thought was set in stone at them being the ultimate definition that should be followed without deviation.
I do recall thinking at 20 I was the definitive article, who the 30 year old me thought moronic, who the 40 year old me thought a fool, who the 50 year old me thought... Hold on! I see a pattern emerging here!
We aim to teach those who follow us to stand on their own two feet and make us proud we done our part. Maybe one day we will actually mean it and be happy they are happy and lose the ego they are one of a kind and not a replica of our own faults and flaws.
Two great soloists, singing from the same sheet.

So true to today's scenario
... It's really a backbone which is collapsing to unnecessary and sometimes unavoidable pressure..... Nonetheless pathetic....
It's so easy to be hurt by someone you love. Even if they're your family and you strive to make them happy... at one point you have to do what's best for yourself. You captured this so nicely and I'm glad I clicked on this. (:
The wonders of an imperfect family. The love, the hurt and the battles they fight as families do through out their lives and lives growing up. As John said, metaphorically written well as always.

There's no such thing as a perfect family. Go looking and you find flaws in every family tree. Stuff which tells of broken relationships, intolerance and disappointment. What I try to think on is unconditional love. I love mine because of their faults and each one of us is beautifully imperfect. Love of family for who they really are and not what you want them to be. Let them be themselves. So many broken families because of intolerance.

yes, intolerance, Chris...exactly...

A nicely writ metaphorical look at family here Jacob. It has the feel and the mixed, mixed up emotions we have lived through. As always love the mechanisms you use to tell your tale in short bursts.
