it is indeed ... irrational that is .. :( but what else is a fool to do .. living loveless .. and helplessly inflamed in one sided love .. boy oh boy has this one triggered memories ... still in love with her in a way .. but .. what's a fool to do .. i don't think i have read a poem from you using repetition .. kind of re-exploring anew something old ;)
E.
ps. actually .. i stay in touch with her from time to time ... after hmmmmmmmmm about about 18 yrs. .. is it an illness do you think? ;}

Action/reaction. If we could keep love pure and the virgin heart unstained, boy would we be in the Garden! But us humans are complicated, fickle, selfish and hence despite alternatives we spoil the broth and reap the consequences. Each couplet in this needs reading singly and each seems to have meanings of its own.

Pain accessed
Pleasure withheld.... That's such an irony of love. We seek fondness but get pain sometimes. Love path is so unpredictable.... But a painful love was never meant to flourish... So be it.

yes, "So be it"---thank you for your words, Dreamer,
j.
That line if you love someone set them free if they come back it was meant to be, if only the heart could let go without the pain from a bad investment. Yes love wasn’t meant to be easy.

This feels like an emotional roller coaster to me. The repetition works very well, but I am left thinking, you know what, I'm not sure this is worth the effort. Some things are best left alone. That's where you took me Jacob.

Interesting flow of word play. I liked how you let the emotions move between feelings.

The staccato lines are so effective in this one. Emotions ride a roller coaster in some relationships. We must assess if they are worth our time. Good one....a little different from you. Lydi**

Real love can have sometimes bitter taste and feelings . Your poem is very minimalistic but words goes into core of problems. Pain is always misleading force. Love is about learning and yearning. To find balance in between freedom and responsibility . Thank you for poem what can teach me more about myself.
