Custody of a Whim

Custody of a Whim

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Custody of a Whim

chilly breezes blow

from blond tresses

bow to November's calling

I loved her into autumn

but her summer's vow to me

ended

with the first frost

and I was left

a statutory bloom

arrested,

duly assumed

to have presumed

she was my forever flower.

I like the educational words you used here. Lots of sentiment in these few words. It's an art to write simple deep poetry and you do that well. Enjoyed the read. Tyfs

thank you for your words, Cyprian,

Great metaphor here, Jacob. As the seasons change, so do relationships.....sadly. Although the subject is sad, the words are so well written. I could feel them. Lydi**

Beautifully put.
You make heartbreak and rejection sound almost noble.
Forever flowers are fake.
