A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

violation

stripping trees

assault

deadly

the fallout

it's over, voyeurs

go home

 to your winter.

This one for me has a political slant. Directed at those who are looking for a mountain in a mole hill. They won't find it. Accept the election result and get on with your lives. They are hard enough anyway without making it even more difficult. That's were my mind drifted Jacob. A pointed little piece of brevity with much wisdom in it.

I find it interesting how current events can sway our reading of poetry...i like that.

Now why is it I see every word coated with the ash of an American election that hopefully ends four years of serious disquiet across the globe because of one man? Short and punchy and meaningful Jacob!

voyeurs...always lapping up destruction and drama...while there's endless winter in their own hearts...A poem that punches me...silent introspection...makes me think of all those times I reveled in voyeurism too....
