I will listen'

I think that is the sad thing in many relationships, there is much talking and very little listening.

Birds are far from insignificant, both feathered and otherwise. Nice little poem to ponder on.

dear Jacob... since I personify so many birds in my poetry... I read this as wanting to be under the Wings of a Cardinal with feathers that will protect you... I am forever watching the Cardinal in our huge Feeder on the Deck outside the Kitchen Window where I am Privy to the Instincts of Birds. They ask for no money... only Seeds of kindness, especially Oiled Sunflower seeds. Perhaps they do have a “higher calling”!!

This reminds me of the series with Jude Law the Cardinal or the Pope, the title escapes me at the moment. A clever write on how the Catholic order works. Can’t help that feeling the Church just wants wealth as it is a big corporate body now and doesn’t care about the needs of people just “ give me your money!”

Nicely sarcastic description of how I feel about organized religion. I've participated to a "fringe" degree most of my life, to accompany loved ones on special occasions, but that mindset is so foreign to the way I tick. This feels like an olive branch offered to an erstwhile love interest to coax them back with reassurance. Wishing to be under the wing listening may indicate an offering of acceptance of the other person's characteristics?
