i haven't those words phonograph & diamond needle in a long time. i can see myself sitting in a wicker chair & listening, eyes closed & drifting.

Great metaphor here J and this is so visual, the stylus in the groove, going round and round, playing songs that remind of past lost loves and the hurt. The final stanza was more up beat, yes, you can still sing along with life and the pain softens with time.

This is a great metaphor. I used to play a lot of billiards. Id get into funks where I'd lean in too low and play terribly. When I stood taller with better balance and view of the table, id play a lot better.

Music can bring back a flood of memories and all the emotions that come with it. This poem clearly speaks of the moments that drift back in creating emotions.
