The Realtor's Nightmare

The Realtor's Nightmare

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

The Realtor's Nightmare

I am the siding that didn't fit your house

the color of paint that clashed with your beliefs

the Bible salesman selling a parable

for a kiss

the sting on my cheek

from our history

slapping shut the book

after you moved

and left an empty lot

where my heart once stood with yours.

I can confirm from experience that it is more the realtor's who are the nightmares than those who leave us on a vacant lot. I just hate Real Estate agents! That being said, this was another poem with your heart and loss on the page. It's time to find a worthy chamber for your heart, I say. ⚘

Whoa… you must be the Previous Owner who signed our Closing Agreement by Proxy… having moved to Texas where Open Spaces and new adventures were waiting. Your ghostly shadows appear at Dusk when Dreams are tucked in the haunting corners of yesterday. Gently, Pat

I appreciate your poetic replies, Pat,

The sting on the cheek lingers here that means the nightmares are still likely to haunt. The book may be shut, but the memories can filter through as and when.
