Then/Now/Always

Then/Now/Always

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Then/Now/Always

protesters wail

lovers Howl

in the moonlight

of their serenity

when all is quiet now

time has not healed all wounds

the stitches broken open

memories fade and sting at once

I saw you walking that day,

a cause, your cause

my loss, cause I was trepid to speak

but followed

my heart behind the sign

my love caught up in the movement

and you,

a poem I could never write.

A Poem I could never Write… and yet we try to convey the depth of that Day.. when the Wind knew the Way. Thinking of the Song… “Where have all the flowers gone… blowing in the Wind… tenderly, Pat

Sadly there are some wounds that don't heal with time. I felt that distinctly here J. Heartfelt and moving. Beautiful work.

There are wounds that time doesn't heal and unfortunately, they do still sting. I've missed reading your poetry Jacob . This one is superb. Julie
