Overheard

Overheard

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Overheard
a bewildered simile
asked out of the poem
the metaphor obliged saying,
"no need to be like, just be"
as they walked down a sidewalk
conversing in couplets
the two of them a smiling, beguiling pair
rhyming, never thinking of
two-timing
until the assonance kicked in
and the metaphor cried,
"I knew you would become that,
you fooled me once
but I am not like a dunce
so it won't happen again."

ahahahaha .. i love your two love birds .. walking hand in hand .. "Overheard " lifts me day this morning jacob! i tend to be too serious too much of the time .. i especially appreciate this poem my friend .. i'm in such a dry spell and without motivation .. giving a chuckle with Mr. and Mrs. poetic tooling is an easy pill to swallow .. and just what the Doctor ordered :))))))))))))))))))
