Surely they would agree ...
"Now is the Winter of our discontent"
We ... like they are drawing closer to the end of this weather... Spring will soon be upon us.
I do notice there is very little singing from our little friends ... maybe just the sound of beaks chattering.
Your haiku sets a tone and I shiver. Winter is too hard on old bones.
the last line, quite the imagery there, is it that cold for birds? LOL
very nicely written, I bet the bird baths are all frozen over as well,
it is too cold for a swim for the poor little creatures.
Love this write Jacob

maybe they have little ice skates and could have fun that way....thank you, Unspoken,

I do wonder how those tiny scantily dressed birds don’t freeze to death. Winters here are brutal. My heavy dressed, wide awake body doesn’t even want to walk in the winter much less try to fly in our razor cutting winter winds. Vivid poetry and a wonderful haiku

Reminds me why I hate the winter. Long, cold, killer...
The rest may be needed, but that doesn't make it any easier to live through.
Quite a snapshot, J.
