A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

unsteady firmament

nil winds
to chill winds
your flavor of the hour
smiles
to frowns
turn me upside down
like a vane to be spun
from a rooftop
slanted only in your direction

Chilly then moody then warm…sounds like most relationships to me summed up in so few words which you do so well.

When they can keep you guessing, they've got you.

Oh yeah. Those mercurial moods. Some of us are cursed with them. Others must live at the mercy of their vagaries. Of all the things we strive for in this life, balance is the most difficult. You express the feeling of never knowing when the shift will come. Another excellent write!

This is amazing- I absolutely love how this was written. Wow, each line is gold, and a new favorite of mine fore sure. This is beautiful. ‘Your flavor of the hour’ and the last few lines are amazing. All of it is, really, but I love the line about the weather vane. What a perfect metaphor. The entire piece is so likable and brilliantly written. Thank you so much for sharing.

What a charming way to put it, "slanted only in your direction". Well done, Jacob, write on.
