ever something

ever something

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

ever something
we were living
happy ever after
we were living
eccentric notions
of eternal love
and then
I wrote a poem
now,
I write poems
alone

dearest Jacob… Poetry and Love 💗 are like Iris in Bloom… never Alone in the Spring when the Fragrance alone keeps you attuned … to the phases of the Moon. tenderly, Pat

thank you for your kindness, Pat,

To write or to co-write, that is the question. There's lots of things worse than being lonely or being alone. There's having the hell aggravated out of you, for one thing. I try to spend my time (what time I have) with those of my own choosing. It is selfish? Perhaps. But I feel like I've earned a bit of happiness in my life and I will claim it as I see fit. Charlie Daniels sang, "It's my life, God was the one to give it and I ain't gonna let nobody tell me how to live it." If we could have all we ever wanted, do you think we'd be happy? I have my doubts. I somehow think the dream and the reality might collide in the worst possible catastrophe.

Thank you and no, not selfish...we have to take care of us once in awhile....

The end got me, Jacob. And, Woo, that must have been one heck of a poem!

I always feel alone in my poetry even though I’m not alone… I often am in my head but I remember being alone and writing…funny though it feels the same. I got all kinds of memories popping up from this powerful little write!

sorry if I helped bring up bad ones,
thank you, Patricia,

J., poetry, as you know, is deceptively simple, and this poem is powerful in the message that it sends, that truth, whatever we think it, must win out despite the cost versus child-like beliefs. I really like this piece.

Well if she didn't appreciate the beautiful poetry you write it's her loss! ~Sharon

Two voices once sang sonnets. Now one cries alone in the wilderness. Well do I know the grief of that. I have lived with it for three decades. True and painful words, Sir.
