Until you let them in, they will knock until they beat down the door. Then, like voracious locusts, they will devour you. But if you let them in, a truce might be made. For then, time, the great healer, can do his work. Nicely done, Jacob. Truly, poetry is a powerful form of therapy.
They can be uninvited guests when we're not ready. I dislike them myself. I try to act like I'm not home, but they keep knocking.

Our minds have a habit of regurgitating people and situations from the past that we would prefer not to remember. Extra strong padlocks on the heart's doors required. They will do everything they can to gain entry.
