poem 3,487 or the temptation to write it

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

poem 3,487 or the temptation to write it

willpower's smack

black and blue fried soul

gave it up long ago

gave in

to a prayer of contrast

I loved you for some reason

compared affection to love

to being in love

and now the soul

left the body of the crime

I lie in state

opposites say half a rosary

likes say the rest

we are infallible

until we fail

and marks on our discolored skin

heal

I made a plea bargain

but you weren't listening

the other side of the confessional

was as empty as your feelings for me.

What is about the wrong woman? Breaks us every time and still we keep coming back.
Seems like when God made Man, He left out sanity in dealing with women! Nicely done, J.

your most welcome dear :D
"We are infallible/until we fail." If the other side of the confessional is silent, I'd say that's another one up the chute.

yes it is...thank you, John,

The sacred part, the "I do words agreed to at the alter don't always pan out. Some don't even take the rosery seriously. Maybe there's a comparison in the half-dedicated rosery and the value of wedding ring somewhere. I feel like there's a whole lot more to say on this one but the words escape me.
