severed ties and blue wheels

severed ties and blue wheels

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

severed ties and blue wheels

evidently misrepresented
family is an integrated
sum of parts

she rises in the southeast of disinheritance
where love was willed away to bleak encounter

I saw her yesterday, from a welcomed distance
a disfigurement of love
a resin in the sun of endearment

mountains between what might have been
volcanic apathy
spills

no heart in the matter
anymore, love found its way further east
towards shadows

your presence dissipates
I am driving west of you
the Pacific Ocean
will be the resting place

of what feelings
I have left in a glove box
with no prints.

Distance and more distance, it has a way of growing until you feel nothing, seems wrong but it’s not, it’s actually very natural, sad but even that fades in the distance, relatable

thank you for your understanding review, Patricia,

What once was, is no more. A sad reality which causes hurt. The great divide is still there. Sad poem J.

Wow... you have loved deeply... like Pearls in the Ocean tossed on the Beach of Yesterday. There must be a place to Retire where Mangoes and Coconuts are in good supply-- and the Seagulls dream on Tropical Isles...

Wooo, --- "I saw her yesterday, from a welcomed distance /// a disfigurement of love" --- Love this vision!
As for the rest of the poem, I read it, again, and again, and again. ... :)

Thank you, JE,

The poem speaks to me of vast, impossible distances between two once close. A disfigurement of love sounds sad and unsightly. This can be such an emotional moment. In a way, a closure. I can feel the evaporation of feelings.
