Blind

Blind

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Blind
it's a long morning
from the alarm clock's dawning
the night before
redundant last call
the last sip, a token slip
of tongue
a hand retracts
lips invert
a casual flirt
finds a pillowed companion
and when the sun rises and spies
uncoupled heart
sleeps alone
under a blanket of its own lies.

This leaves so very much to the imagination of the reader, which is what makes it so enjoyable to read. Very nicely done. ~Jim

One night stands can release some tension, but they don't do anything for loneliness.

What happens at night can be very slippery, but we are sometimes blinded by what state we are in; a tryst gone awry…next morning says it all; and this happens too often….reality sinks in….

The last stand of one night stands and goodbye notes left on the nightstand. They say love is blind. But even some of the lust is obviously whiskey vision impaired. I enjoyed this.

This was a smooth but sad rendering. --- I wonder, was it any port in a storm, or the thought of a safe harbor that wasn't there?

Nights have a way of leading astray. The morning let's the truth dawn. The lying heart suffers the consequences. It is so sad.

That uncoupled heart tells a sad story here J. I felt an ache here in the morning light. Reality at dawn.
