PanicA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoPanic I was chirping in sync with some chickadee nesting in my boredom the blue jay heard us and growled beaky sounds set sights on our ennui attacked with fervor screaming his blue jay words not so eloquently we imploded the nest exploded the chickadee and I interposed sanctions to stop the massacre of our mood blue jay ignored chickadee’s clipped confidence froze I rose to retaliate that jay had had his day the alliance struck the sky cleared no blue jays left on my block the chickadee laid to rest the chirping subsided the blue monster is dead the screaming's still in my head the memories nesting forever there. erin-cilberto 4/10/22 © 2022 jacob erin-cilbertoReviews
