dry sneakers

dry sneakers

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

dry sneakers

under the umbrella

of sunshine heart

we loved in the rain

of catastrophe

drops of pain

repelled

by the shield

of requited feelings

aridly amorous

protrusions

as it opened

spread its wings

our wings

flew above a world

as the floodwaters of hate

rose well above sea level.

I'm hearing The Hollies and Bus Stop, "Bus stop, wet day, she's there, I say
"Please, share my umbrella"...sometimes we all need someone to help us in out of the rain. F.

Enjoy the loving while we have the opportunity. You never know what's round the corner waiting to pounce and rip your world apart. The floodwaters of hate whether global or on a smaller scale, do have a habit of returning. Powerful J.

and even though you know it os all feeding off catastrophe, you keep going anyway, enjoying the tiny snippets of pleasure, only to know, it will all indeed end.

Worse thing with sneakers is that hole in the sole you didn't know was there until you step in a puddle; something we all do from time to time.
