Sounds like in it for good or ill come hill or high water; destinies bound by choice or swept away by romance. Sometimes we hang on even when there's nothing left to hang on to. Great write. F.

It is true that when we love someone that much we do keep their secrets. Honoring them by not sharing intimate or private stories with others. And....it is also true that when we love someone there is that sense of possession..right or wrong. I don't know of anyone who truly loved someone who didn't have that feeling. Another good one Mr. J! Temp

spot on...I appreciate your reviews very much, Temperance.

in some ways, your last verse reminded me of that final scene in 'Thelma and Louise', their determination to never go back to the life they had, even though it was their "final descent".... love can be this way, based on real friendship.... sharing the secrets of 'honor' we do become drunk, inebriated with the possession of each other....
maybe I am being a bit far fetched with my analogy, but I have longed for such a love, thought I had it and then lost it long, long ago.... funny too, how a poem like yours, brings it all back in a roar.... thank you Jacob....
