A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

loose binding

manuscript
you were the missing pages

my days were numbered
chapters inscribed

love an apparent plot
characters hauntingly familiar

in the mirror the letters looked backwards
in my life, love moved forward

without the book in my hand
or heart.

Another inventive and delightfully entertaining poem, Jacob! Best to keep those pages in a loose-leaf binder! You never know what editing you may need to do before the book is finished! I enjoyed the read!

thank you for your kind review, Robert,
j.
It seems to me, you gave up on the manuscript to save your relationship. You can always write the book but, not always save the love. Another good one j. Temp

I appreciate your take on this one, Temperance...
thank you much,
j.
Never wise to argue with a mirror. Sounds like another one that got away, which is probably why the characters seemed familiar. Oh, well, there are always other books in the library.

PS: Check the third line from the end. There seems to be a "d" that doesn't need to be there.

Your pieces are always clean of errors...but I would definitely mention if I saw a typo.
You never know when a new chapter is going to start. The book ain't finished yet J. Plenty of time left.

thank you for your wise words, andrew,'

Even if someone is only a chapter in the scrapbook of your life, they leave imprints. Emotions might go undercover, but they still exist. I like the title. Loose.....some relationships are just that. Never meant to be permanent or predictable. Lydi**
