I particularly like the line "I imagine a time ago ago ago". Nicely poetic. The heart of the poem comes in the second stanza which could cover days, weeks, or even years. Bravo to brevity. Congrats for the compression!

You compared music to relationship and it was very joyful to me as I found the similarity between them.
You may not a like a song the first time you hear it,as you may not like or admire a person the first time you meet him or her. That song can become more meaningful and attractive to you as you pay attention to the depth of it.The same is true about people. They might not seem adorable but when you communicate with them, everything can change.
P.S: When I saw the title of your poem, the first thing that appeared in my mind was the "Yesterday" song by Sir Paul Mccartney. Many memories with this song.
Thanks for sharing it sir.
Best Regards
Nima

Songs of yesterday have a habit of transporting us back to relationships at that time. They can bring both happy and unhappy feelings. Most relationships, like a rose, bloom well in their youth but what happens when the honeymoon is over? There are unanswered questions here.

Songs Of Yesterday, I got it wrong. It's an album by Free, J.
lately I have done a lot of 'old songs' listening to,
a bit more reliable than many old relationships
fortunately this one never had an 'and then' attached

Relationships are like that; the start is new and fun and moves to a nice, comfortable and knowing phase where so much joy is shared and then.... There is always that..and then. Sometimes it leads to greater things and sometimes, it just dies on the vine. Great read Mr. J. Temp

Old songs resurrect old memories. Things seemed so intense, back in the day. And then there was that "and then."

"And then..." I like that ending! Mysterious, cliff hanger. Old rhythms never fade, they only becime stringer, adding more beats to it to strengthen the rhythm, eventually making its own song! I enjoyed reading this poem, Thanks for sharing!
And then you have to play it by ear. When eyes are questioning sometimes the only answer is a kiss. If the mutual beat is still alive, it is a shame to ignore it. An open ended poem. I like it. Lydi**
