a bone to pick

a bone to pick

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a bone to pick

this country is full of itself
poets demeaned as dreamers
causing wreckage and destabilization
because heart comes before dollars

and their cries are hollers
for movement away from what's no longer benign
but a consign-

meant of unshackled prisoners
behind bars of steel persuasion
impenetrable
but also
seemingly impossible to escape

we are us
they are them
yeah, bad English
but then they have corrupted the language
of peace and serenity

we have become a self-absorbed
province
lovers of dubious convictions
substandard restrictions
to real freedom

we are becoming what we
no longer were
and now
we are they

better semantics
but the same strange antics
of those we decried

the ones whose deranged dreams
never allow but for
a restless sleep.

Truth Nd sadness in one....we are the choices we make 🌹but the truth shall be revealed but there is none so blind as those who can see it 🌹
