a bone to pickA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertoa bone to pick this country is full of itself poets demeaned as dreamers causing wreckage and destabilization because heart comes before dollars and their cries are hollers for movement away from what's no longer benign but a consign- meant of unshackled prisoners behind bars of steel persuasion impenetrable but also seemingly impossible to escape we are us they are them yeah, bad English but then they have corrupted the language of peace and serenity we have become a self-absorbed province lovers of dubious convictions substandard restrictions to real freedom we are becoming what we no longer were and now we are they better semantics but the same strange antics of those we decried the ones whose deranged dreams never allow but for a restless sleep. erin-cilberto 8/11/22
