ghost soldier

ghost soldier

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

ghost soldier

fortress shaken
buttress impinged
heart's defenses
an Alamo of kind

no feelings left alive
in the massacre

just a stone cold cavalryman
impervious
to the next attack

I really like this, Jacob. It works on both levels. Stark, haunting and bitter. Kudos!

thank you for your kind words, Iron Horseman,
j.
The un-love poem. Been there, done that, too. Doesn't work out how you hoped.
