A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

sitting pretty

abandon

is the albatross

around the neck

of exploration

invention

is a sound mind

matriculating

in uneven terms

gestation

is the orphan

finding a home

in continuity

conformity is

escapism

from what's real

the acceptance of nothing.

There’s so much to take from this, conformity is escapism from what’s real…
This line certainly resonates… if we stick to what we’re told and accept this…the blind folds will easily adorn our eyes 👀.
Truth be told.

thank you for your understanding review, Katrina,

Jacob , escape from what’s real , I head into imagination , myself , maybe not conformity
Acceptance of nothing , when you have nothing you have too
Abandon is the albatross around the neck of exploration , we abandon as we explore
Invention is a sound mind , if not sound of mind , your less likely to invent or be constructive
A makes you think Poem , Great read

Thanks Jacob ,
dearest Jacob… we have a Great Country; however, there is no “checks and balances when we deal with Insanity. We are still Sitting Pretty, but Money does not grow on Trees.. perhaps there are Pirate Chests with Gold and rare Jewels. We are sailing the Seven Seas with a Tropical Breeze in our Fantasy. Poetry is our Gold. tenderly, Pat

I truly mean it. You are welcome sir.
curious to how you settled on the title? the body is quite thoughtful. the opening stanza made me sit up pay attention. linkage of the words required I not just follow the flow, but keep in mind the first line close to my senses to link up with the fourth. Clever placement of each.
Only quibble I might make, I'd have cut "the" from the last line. To me, by doing that, the acceptance of nothing" is dialed up to force a real acceptance of nothing on the part of the reader
