implosion's arraignment

implosion's arraignment

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

implosion's arraignment

pigeons roost

and poop

their acclaim

for skyscraper logic

taller,

where structure meets space

highest is not high enough

dearly beloved,

a message to God

saying

we greet you

heaven might be one more

story

up

or a blast may fell

this building

oblivion is the cancer of arrogance

all the ranch houses are rounded up

into camps for the unfortunate

those pigeons have empathic

wings

i played on one of those roofs

once

but i could not fly

though i imagined i could

I always thought that pigeons were showing their disdain for our new fangled modern clifftops, as well as us landlocked, puny humans that think they're so big, yet need graceless metal tins instead of wings. 😊
I love the "god is on the next floor" line, it is so reminiscent of viking thought, as seen in the man made TV series vikings 😊
Perhaps we have been wrong for longer than we thought and what we hear as song is hysterical laughter at our pathetic attempts to be seen as at the top of the tree. I've only been top of the tree three times in my life. All in childhood and all ended with a thud! 😊
