A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

strands of inspiration

crisp colorful leaves,

crisper, more colorful metaphors

falling

throughout the poem's dense foliage

standing in orange and gold symbol

we find the upright maples and oaks

tall and bending in frozen wind

and then it's over

the white horizon is coming

the chilblains disrupt the pen's grip

find me when the thaw greets

a spring gesture

in welcoming smile

i shall wave from across the clearing

and we will write again.

I adore the contrast here between the warm vibrant colour of autumn and the stark whiteness of winter's coverlet. It reminds me of how I feel about my writing. The tree has lost all her leaves early this year. The inspiration to write is missing but I know it will return. A beautiful poem J laden with gorgeous imagery which touches my emotions deeply.
