what color the glass

what color the glass

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

what color the glass

it's a sparse gathering

those who really loved him

shake the sand from between their toes

sandals relieved of ashes underfoot

a ripple on a lake

the last look they take

sun sets

over the fences

the ones that kept him

to himself

as his October

swims close to the surface

one last strike imminent

I thought here of when we released my mother's ashes to the sea but this is a gathering by a lake, for those who had a special love for another. Sounds like a beautiful setting and a loving farewell J.
