It happened one night

It happened one night

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

It happened one night

Stephen King talked to me in my sleep

the cat mewed in the corner

eyes roving

purr interrupted

by some unknown fear

she curled up at my feet

rather than trying to steal my breath

but I just focused on turning as many pages as

I could before I woke up.

"Maine," he said, is good place for towns

for clowns

to relocate

and hide

in sewers

luring innocent children to

laugh themselves to death"

I woke up screaming

nearly scared the cat to its demise

a Pennywise for her thoughts

or a King's ransom for mine.

good process...
A Halloween scary, this one is J. It plays out in spooky fashion and I can't get that image out of my head of your Hank being almost scared to death. Stephen King has much to answer for. How dare he intrude your dreans :)

ha ha....I got a kick out of your reply...thanks, Chris.
Hank thanks you as well.

Nice, scary piece J. I don't like Stephen King...and for him to speak to you in a dream is frightening; however perfect for Halloween...at least the cat lived through this... don't know what her thinking might be... and lucky for you this was just a dream.....
Best, B

Hank prefers Dean Koontz...I think Stephen is jealous of her liking Dean better.

she is my cat.
As a huge fan of King I so enjoyed this little gem into dread and creepy horror. And a wonderful tribute to this spooky month of October. CLE
