A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

1-A

a crack in the window

the draft

wafts in

my thoughts enlist

but the lines are missing in action

the poem a.w.o.l.

i never came back

to fix the glass

I thought about the crack in the window letting in the wind. It also let's in the light and for that I am thankful. This little poem is multi layered J. Some things stay broken. Not everything can be fixed. A little light though.....

and we just must accept....thank you, Chris,

This one has many layers. Is the poet speaking of the draft into the armed services or about the breeze coming in through a cracked window? Metaphor of the lines missing in action....your lines are never missing though. You always manage to write. So prolific! Lydi**

thank you for your kind words, Lydi,

Perhaps the wind jolted your thoughts into action…however you could not put them into a poem…. So you gave up, didn’t write, nor fixed the crackin the window…. It happens to me as well ( not the window but the words!)

And as winter approaches, along with ever increasing prices, I think I'll enlist for the free food and heat. And maybe I'll find some of my Mia words too. 😊
